Frequently Asked Questions

Why are some of the tabs under conctruction?

Although, I'd love to have my website fully developed and ready upon
launching. I am single-handlining building each tab and aspect of the business myself.

Each tab will be fully completed within this year :)

Where did the idea for making candles come from?

I'm and avid DIY'er, that has worked through many different creative niches within the last 10 years.

I was looking into a creative outlet that could be done in the VERY EXTREME cold winter months in Alberta and stumbled across candle making.

I instantly fell in love. It felt relaxing and rewarding that I could create beautiful works of art and be able to express my moods through creating scents.

Theres not a scent that I vibe with currently offered on your website?

No worries :) Everyone has their personal favorite scents. Upcoming launches and collections will be announced prior to purchasing date. This way you'll be able to look forward to the new released scents up and coming.

You can also send an email in the contact tab with suggestions of your own favorite scents.

Why is shipping cost expensive?

For my small business at the moment, its not cost effective to offer shipping options to non- North American areas. This could be the reason you are seeing outrageous shipping costs.

My Package was damaged upon Arrival?

Theses things happen. Some packages just don't make it. For defective or damaged products, please contact via email on the contact page for a refund or exchange. We strongly suggest including your order# and a photo in your email.

Candle Care

Basic Care

Don’t Burn your candle for more then 3-4 hrs at a time. Read the Warning/Safety Regulations Label on the bottom of the vessel. Do not attempt to drill a hole in it, it will crack the cement and you’ll be left with a mess.

I Lost My Candle Care Card

No Worries, send me an email in the contact tab and i'd be happy to send you a digital copy.

Cleaning Our Concrete Vessels

You will need a spoon and a blow dryer. Both of which you'd prefer to not use for anything else other than this purpose.. Soften the wax with the blow dryer (try not to actually melt it too much as it will get messy and will stain the outside of your cement vessel). Once softened, spoon out the wax. Continue softening and spooning until all the wax is gone. Then, use your blow dryer to heat up with wick and slowly spoon out the wick/wick sticker. If the sticky residue from the wick sticker doesn't come off all the way, that's okay. Use alcohol and a cotton ball to wipe the rest off.
Please make sure to never rinse or pour any wax down the sink.
Your plumber will be your new best friend.

Candle Info Missconceptions

Are scented candles safe?

Consumers can be confident that a well-made and properly burned candle, whether scented or unscented, will burn cleanly and safely. Although there are no known health hazards associated with the use of scented candles, unfounded concerns about the safety of man-made fragrances vs. “natural” fragrance materials and essential oils continue to populate the media. The fragrances approved for candle usage – whether synthesized or “natural” – do not release toxic chemicals.

I attach a candle care card with info regarding most candle safety and questions in every order.

Are there lead wicks in candles?

No. This is very common misconception.
Lead wicks have been officially banned in the United States since 2003, and before then they were primarily limited to inexpensive imported candles. NCA members voluntarily agreed to not use lead wicks in 1974, and long supported the elimination of lead wick use.

Is candle soot harmful?

No. The minuscule amount of soot produced by a candle is the natural by product of incomplete combustion. Candle soot is composed primarily of elemental carbon particles, and is similar to the soot given off by kitchen toasters and cooking oils. These everyday household sources of soot are not considered a health concern, and are chemically different from the soot formed by the burning of diesel fuel, coal, gasoline, etc.

I love REALLY STRONG scented candles. Why don’t candle manufacturers add a lot more fragrance?

There is a maximum amount of fragrance percentage that can be added to a candle before it no longer burns cleanly or properly. This maximum is set for legal protection and safety of both the business and its consumer.
