Candle Care Instructions
-
Candle Care Card
Every order includes a Candle Care Card with detailed, candle-specific instructions.
If you misplace it, no worries! Simply email me through the contact page, and I’ll happily send you a digital copy.
-
Daily Use
One first use make sure you have 1/4 inch of wick sticking out of the candle. Every new candle from us are trimmed to this standard.
Allow wax to melt completely to the edges, to prevent "tunneling". This can take up to 2 hrs.
Never leave unattened and keep away from flammable objects. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
-
Burning & Safety
Do not burn your candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
Always read the Warning/Safety Regulations Label we attach on the bottom of the vessel before use.
Never attempt to drill a hole into the cement vessel—this will crack the concrete and create a mess.
-
Wax Melts
Always use wax melts in a properly rated wax warmer designed for this purpose. Never leave your warmer unattended while it’s on, and keep it away from children, pets, and flammable items. Do not add water, oils, or other substances to the melted wax.
Allow the warmer to cool completely before handling or switching out wax. Avoid overfilling the dish, as melted wax can overflow and cause burns or damage.
For best results and a safe experience, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your specific warmer.
-
Cleaning Our Concrete Vessels & Trays
You’ll need a spoon and a blow dryer (preferably ones dedicated to this purpose). Gently soften the wax with the blow dryer—avoid fully melting it, as this can get messy and stain the exterior.
Once softened, spoon out the wax and repeat until the vessel is clean. Warm the wick base with the blow dryer and carefully remove the wick and wick sticker.
If any sticky residue remains, use alcohol and a cotton ball to remove it. Never rinse or pour wax down the sink—your plumber will thank you.
-
Repourposing the Vessel
The Candle Vessel is incredibly versatile and can be repurposed long after your candle or product is gone.
Its durable, minimalist design makes it perfect for holding jewelry, keys, loose change, or small everyday essentials.
It can also be used as a faux planter base, a desk organizer for paperclips or pins, or even as a decorative jar for crystals or keepsakes.
With its modern aesthetic and long-lasting material, your vessel can easily find a second life anywhere in your home—adding both function and style.
My favorite use is the "catch all jar" to sort through every spring cleaning.

Understanding Candle Misconceptions and Debunking Candle Myths
-
[Unscented Candles safer than Scented]
Well-made and properly tested burned candles, whether scented or unscented, burn cleanly and safely. Approved fragrances for candle usage, whether synthesized or natural, do not release toxic chemicals.
⁍ I Include a candle care card with safety info in every order. ⁌ -
[Every Candle only uses a lead wick]
No. This is very common misconception.
Lead wicks have been officially banned in the United States since 2003, and before then they were primarily limited to inexpensive imported candles. NCA members voluntarily agreed to not use lead wicks in 1974, and long supported the elimination of lead wick use.
⁍ We only use the Premier-700 series wicks. It is a flat braid cotton core wick made from textile-grade cotton. They are designed to promote clean burning and minimize mushrooming from carbon buildup. ⁌ -
[Candle Soot is Harmful]
No. The minuscule amount of soot produced by a candle is the natural by product of incomplete combustion. Candle soot is composed primarily of elemental carbon particles, and is similar to the soot given off by kitchen toasters and cooking oils. These everyday household sources of soot are not considered a health concern, and are chemically different from the soot formed by the burning of diesel fuel, coal, gasoline, etc.
⁍ Our candles go through rigorous testing to ensure a consistent burn with controlled heat and flame.⁌ -
[Stronger Scented Candles. Why dont manufacturers add more fragrance]
There is a maximum amount of fragrance percentage that can be added to a candle before it no longer burns cleanly or properly. This maximum is set for legal protection and safety of both the business and its consumer.
⁍ There are options later on down the road we are exploring to increase our own scented candles in specific requests.⁌

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why are some of the tabs under conctruction?
Although I’d love to have my website fully developed from launch, I’m building every part of this multifaceted business on my own.
Each section will be completed throughout the coming years—thank you for your patience! -
Where did the idea for making candles come from?
I’m an avid DIY’er who has explored many creative niches over the past 10 years. I wanted a creative outlet I could enjoy during Alberta’s extremely cold winter months, and that’s when I stumbled into candle making. I instantly fell in love—there was something both calming and rewarding about creating beautiful pieces of art and expressing my mood through scent.
You can read more deep dive of the creation process on Our Founder page. -
Will you offer specific scent profiles I vibe with?
Yes! Everyone has their own favorite fragrances. Upcoming launches and new collections will always be announced ahead of the release date, so you’ll have the chance to explore fresh scent options. You’re also welcome to send your own scent suggestions through the contact tab—I’d love to hear what you enjoy!
-
Why does my shipping cost seem expensive?
We currently offer furniture shipping only within Canada and the U.S. For our candle and home décor items, shipping outside North America isn’t cost-effective for a small business at this stage. If you’re seeing unusually high shipping rates, it’s likely because your location falls outside our current service areas.
If you have questions or need help, feel free to reach out through Our Contact Us Page —we’re always happy to assist! -
My Package was damaged upon Arrival?
Unfortunately, these things can happen, and sometimes packages don’t make it safely. If your item arrives defective or damaged, please reach out through the contact page for a refund or exchange. We strongly recommend including your order number and a photo of the damage in your message so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
